Using the ITProMail webmail

The webmail is the browser interface for your ITProMail mailbox. It is the fastest way to reach your mail from a machine where you have not configured a client, and it is also where you manage account settings. Sign in at https://itpromail.com/login/ with your full email address and your account password. If you have enabled a second factor, you will be asked for it as well.

Folders

Messages are grouped into folders. Inbox holds incoming mail, and Sent, Drafts and Trash hold what their names suggest. Trash is emptied automatically 14 days after a message is placed there, so move anything you need to keep out of Trash before that window closes.

Folders you create in the webmail appear in IMAP clients after they sync, and folders you create in a client appear in the webmail. If a folder is missing from one side, force a refresh in that client before assuming something went wrong.

Search

Use the search field above the message list. A specific sender address or a distinctive phrase from the subject or body returns far fewer results than a single common word, which matters once a mailbox holds years of mail. If a search returns nothing you expect, check which folder you are in and whether the message was moved to Trash.

Remote content blocking

HTML email often loads images, fonts or stylesheets from servers controlled by the sender. Each load tells that server that the message was opened and reveals your network address. Keep remote content blocked for senders you do not recognize. When a message needs its images, allow remote content for that message only instead of changing a general setting for every sender.

Blocking remote content does not stop a message from being read. It only prevents the message from making outbound requests when it is displayed.

Keyboard shortcuts

Keyboard navigation lets you triage a mailbox without reaching for the mouse. Use it to move between messages, open a message, reply, and move mail between folders. Bindings can change between releases of the webmail, so check the shortcut reference in the interface or its help section for the current key map rather than relying on a list from memory.

Sessions and sign-out

A webmail session stays valid for 30 days unless it is revoked. On a shared or borrowed machine, sign out when you finish. To review active sessions and revoke any you do not recognize, open Account, then Security. If you suspect a session was not started by you, revoke it and change your password.

Other account settings

Several features are configured from the webmail rather than the mail client. Filters (Sieve scripts) live under Account, then Filters. Aliases are under Account, then Aliases. PGP keys and the Web Key Directory are under Account, then Encryption. See Sieve filters, aliases and PGP for details on each.

For a broader list of hardening steps for your account, see the security checklist.
